Coffee: As the only luxury

"Finally, the one thing that makes my pocket sweat." I personally smell the rich aroma of brewing coffee every time I step to that sophisticated store. It's just that something is worth struggling for when people are rushing for just one cup. It was a heavenly feeling because I got to enjoy my favorite drink ever since high school. I was 15 years old then when I started to fall in love with coffee. Five heavenly flavors... Mocha Frappucino, Toffee Nut Latte, Ice caramel macchiato, White chocolate mocha, and Peppermint Mocha. A great drink indeed!

Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell

Someone is stalking Beryl Madison. Someone who spies on her and makes threatening, obscene phone-calls. Terrified, Beryl flees to Key West - but eventually she must return to her Richmond home. The very night she arrives, Beryl inexplicably invites her killer in ... Thus begins for Dr Kay Scarpetta the investigation of a  crime that is as convoluted as it is bizarre. Why would Beryl open the door to someone who brutally slashed and then nearly decapitated her? Did she know her killer? Adding to the intrigue is Beryl's enigmatic relationship with a prize-winning author and the disappearance of her own manuscript. As Scarpetta retraces Beryl's footsteps, an investigation that begins in the laboratory with microscopes and lasers leads her deep into a nightmare that soon becomes her own. -- back cover of Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell A GREAT READ!

May 27th

"JUST LIKE THE CANDLES, PEOPLE MELT WHEN THEY ARE CRYING." ... and I always melt whenever I think of  you. I shot a glance towards the direction of a light. I don't know what kind of light that was. I just saw your face illuminating behind those perfect flames. I decided to walk and had kept my focus on your face. I felt the glitter of happiness because I saw the beauty and radiance in you. But you were gone. I lit candles for the memories. Just like for today I had three. But when I finally reached and got hold of the light, the face that I missed so much suddenly turned to ash. This was November. But I got stacked at May.

That Moment...

I feel the burning intention of making the best possible move for imitating the hardest part of smiling when you bid your goodbye. It is not that easy to just throw all our shared memories, all the laughter and our hard-earned time. Sometimes, I think of a way of throwing them all together because you forgot that I am waiting and I am yearning just to see you once. Once. The moment when you first laid your attention to me, I felt like I was burning inside. Butterflies were kept on flying, dancing  with every beat of my heart. My emotions exploded, giving way to fantasies. I really do like that feeling. But... You told me that you will keep in touch, I almost fell to that lie when you held my hand under the fast food lane. It was the best lie, I must admit. Because... I am waiting. After all these years. I am still waiting. You told me and I believed you. I am still waiting. I want to see your thin face again. I am waiting. Your sweet words already drowned me as if I a...

Hel-Boy

Cats and dogs are imitating the rain, shed by the playing wind of dark and cold. Until a specie came from below, thinking that he was the last drop of dog. Wearing nothing but his eyes, burned intensively from my gaze of emotion. Until he decided to shot his lids... Closed... Closed... But he lingers with that soft and soothing fragrance of addiction. Nothing but his cigar.

June 22, 2013 Saturday 16:21 I can't sing. I can't dance. I can't act. But the situation led me to the three things I hate the most! That was a little freaking irony. If life is a stage play. I will definitely at the back shouting for supports. That was it. I have to pass this. One whole sem? Not that long. School is definitely freaking cool.

June 21, 2013 Friday 0:24 This is a wonderful day. And I feel like I will be agreeing with the solstice. Maybe if happiness can be seen, I can paint it with thousand faces. I am maybe exaggerating but my words are keep on flowing This is what I wanted... you don't know how it feels when all you gonna do is just listen (Oh! you poor journal!) I feel no drops of pressure even though there are things that are so hard to accomplish; even if my mind is half-drained; even if my tongue is twisted; or even if my pocket is already crying for alms. Because there is one thing that separates this day from the other... That is... Friends.

Journal 3

June 20, 2013 Thursday 20:41 I traveled without fares, sitting inside the executive room with my pajamas on. That's how I live through books. Lying on my bed with coffee on my table and a good book to read. It felt like heaven in a fictional place. And I know that this is home.

June 19, 2013 Wednesday 23:21 Laughter is always be the perfect medicine. It can heals the mind's most chronic disease... and that was the reason why my day ended with a bliss. I got a pocketful of sunshine behind the darkest clouds. And it seemed to be the only irony for this day. Why all that? I got my first ever recognition from the person who taught us to be a good speaker; a not so perfect end point from a not so perfect work (redundant? Oh not now!); a very good conversation with long time friends; and a granted wish from Our Heavenly Father. So much for hard work. And I can say that... This was not a typical day... because... This was school.

June 18, 2013 Tuesday 13:47 Calamba I don't know where I am going. I decided to stay but my mind keep on saying to go away. See the place where my happiness dwells. And so I did. I travel under the heavy rain and scattered fogs. Under the roof of a small vehicle with a maniac. A long drive indeed. During this boredom, I am trying to think of beautiful memories we had shared together. I missed it. I missed you... that's why I'm here, in a loving memory of Calamba. I know that I am the only one who remembers... that's why I am here with the reason of hoping to see you,   under the foot bridge, behind the racing cars, or even in the mist of the fog. I waited for the rain to stop while sipping my cold coffee inside the cheap fast food chain. This is the end. I will return home. But I am confused. I don't know where my home is... because here...   it felt like a long lost sanctuary . But I will do what is best. That is to go back. I have to go ba...

Would you eat artificial meat?

THE next time you’re about to bite into a hamburger, take a moment to consider the resources that went into making it. In recent Solve X talk, Andras Forgacs laid out all the statistics, and explained how tantalizingly close we are to a more sustainable method of meat production. Basically, humanity may soon be 3D printing meat instead of growing it in an animal.               Forgacs starts by explaining just how costly a single quarter-pound beef patty is to produce. For that one serving, 6.7lbs of grains, 600 gallons of water and 75 square feet of grazing land were used. Now multiply that 1000 to find your (approximate) impact — the average American eats over 220lbs of meat each year. Additionally, at least 18% of greenhouse gas emissions are due to meat production. All this for one burger? As economic opportunities continue to lift populations around the world into the middle class, demand for meat is ri...
GIVING BIRTH TO NEW LAWS   Thinking of how many ways the government should fantasize for better policies give the people an unpredictable new society.              In the time of President Marcos when Marshall Law and abusive authorities  were rampant, laws were given by few self-proclaimed “Makamasang Politiko”. It was not hard for them to implement such policies because  people on that time were like puppets played by their governmental ventriloquists. But now, with enlightened men and women; who  are now able to distinguish the RIGHT ONE from PROMINENT ONE, it will become the    dilemma for the position of the government. They cannot create laws without objections and without villain.              This is not like the old society wherein people chose Fernando Poe Jr. rather than Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Our country is not a s...

Film review on El Presidente

El Presidente               El Presidente directed by Mark Meiley is a biographical film which tells the story of Emilio Aguinaldo from ordinary Katipunan members to the first president of the Republic of the Philippines. I just watched it recently and definitely got a good deal of knowing some historical facts. But one hundred and sixty pesos for a cinema was just worthless. The film begins with the capture of Emilio Aguinaldo by Frederick Funston’s command and then flashes back to the scene wherein an old woman gives Aguinaldo and his childhood friend some prophecies. After so many years, Aguinaldo then became a member of Katipunan and assumes the crown of mayor in Cavite. Suddenly, there was a trouble break in Manila that Aguinaldo sent  few of his troops and then took the command of Katipunan forces in Cavite. As the troop including Aguinaldo successfully gain their ground in Cavite, h...

Film review on Hansel and Gretel

Hansel and Gretel                           Hansel and Gretel directed by Tommy Wirkola is an action-horror dark fantasy with a black comedy elements which is the continuation for a fairy tale with the same title. It is hard to believe that an old kiddie tale will definitely hit the big screen by sending Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton into view. After watching the movie, It creates an idea for me to have a better look about the casts, productions, where it had been first released as well as the origin of an epic film —- that is, Hansel and Gretel. Adventure started when the protagonists’ father left them in the middle of the dark woods with no valid and specific reason at all. They do not know how to get back to their house so they wander off in the woods until they reached a gingerbread house which the wicked witch dwells. The witch held them to h...
